WESTBOROUGH, MA -- An especially lethal batch of heroin that may have caused multiple deaths in Western Massachusetts has the Worcester County District Attorney’s office on high alert.

District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. issued a warning Sunday about heroin packaged with the label “Hollywood” after police in Chicopee and Holyoke responded to overdoses and found bags of heroin with the “Hollywood” label.

“If we’re seeing such a deadly batch of heroin so close, I’m concerned that we will see these drugs in our county,” Early said in a release. “All heroin is deadly, but this is extremely dangerous.”

Through the Good Samaritan Law, witnesses of an overdose can call police without the risk of being charged with possession of illegal drugs.
