Yet another reason why Coakley lost...

As a life-long Democrat and a Democratic delegate for Westborough, one disagreement I have with Massachusetts democrats is the attitude of ‘any Democrat, right or wrong.’ Well, I want to support good candidates rather than any candidate that happens to be a democrat. Quite simply, Martha Coakley is not a good candidate. She has never won a close race and has never performed as well as polls might suggest. Had Grossman or Berwick won or even if Cheung had been her running mate, there might have been some hope for Democrats, but absent these options, well, no. I voted for Baker.
I could not vote for a woman who expressed such visceral hatred, every time I spoke with her (three times in person) about shared custody and gender parity in child support and custody awards, for fathers. Her continued response? Giving daddies custody would increase domestic violence. Remember her not knowing the gas tax, she simply does not do her homework, and had she done her homework she would know there is not a SHRED of evidence to support the idea that giving daddies custody would result in an increase in domestic violence. Unlike Coakley, I have done my homework in this area. Unlike Coakley, as a woman, I know that giving fathers custody results in more children completing high school and attending college, fewer children involved with the juvenile justice system and fewer teen pregnancies. Also, daddies spending more time with their children post separation or divorce results in better social outcomes, children feel more confident and more capable. BUT, Coakley insists that giving single white women custody is what is best for children, despite all evidence to the contrary. Well Martha, that’s part of why you lost. Further, former President Clinton, Governor Patrick, Mayor Walsh and Representative Kennedy, you have each lost my respect in your campaigning and support for her as any support for Coakley is support for any Democrat right or wrong, and Coakley is simply wrong.
I campaigned for Deb Goldberg and Maura Healey. I was ecstatic with so many of the Democrats winning, but I cannot feel the same way about Martha Coakley, instead I was bubbling with joy that she lost. Yes, as a woman, so happy that an anti-daddy candidate would lose to a pro-daddy and pro-family candidate like Baker. So, heads up to all future candidates, regardless of party, daddies matter and they deserve your support. If you are going to speak about equal work for equal pay you also need to speak about gender equality in custody and child support for equal parenting and love. Yes, Coakley, each time I spoke to you and you were so against daddies, I told you it would cost you, and it did.
