The fun and exciting 5th Annual “March Madness” Basketball Tournament will take place on Saturday, March 31st from 7-10:00 PM at the Stony Brook Middle School, 9 Farmer Way, Westford, MA. All proceeds from this event will support the United Methodist Church of Westford (UMCW) Youth Groups’ upcoming trip to help needy persons in rural Maine.
In this “three-on-three” tournament, teams of three or more players of all skill levels, ages and genders compete for the sheer enjoyment and knowledge that the $15 per player entry fee will support an extremely worthy cause. Admission is free for anyone interested in experiencing the fun and cheering on family and friends.
As has been done for the past four years, a caring group of junior and senior high-aged young people and their adult counterparts will use this and other funds raised to embark on the “Mission at the Eastward (MATE)”. These dedicated workers will spend a full week providing valuable home maintenance and repair services to good people who simply lack the financial and/or physical means to get the work done on their own. Thanks to MATE, crumbling structures have been made safe, leaky roofs have been patched and ramps have been built for people previously unable to leave their homes. More deserving lives will be changed this summer.
