I-495 Reopens After Transformer Fire In Westford
The fire shut down the entire roadway for over four hours Tuesday.

WESTFORD, MA – All lanes on I-495 in Westford are now open, state police said at 3:28 p.m. The roadway was completely shut down Tuesday morning for an electrical fire on a transformer and reopened after more than four hours and a number of blown estimated reopening times.
Traffic was stalled for miles in both directions while crews put out the fire. National Grid told WCVB the fire was caused by damage from Monday night's storm. The highway was shut down between Exits 32 and 34
I-495 also saw delays in nearby Littleton, where a box truck rollover shut down two lanes on the northbound side at Exit 29. Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment, state police said.
