Lawrence Fentanyl Ring: More Charges After 30 Arrests

Thirty suspects in a Lawrence fentanyl trafficking were recently arrested in "Operation Bad Company," authorities said.

BOSTON, MA — Four leaders of a "lucrative and sophisticated drug trafficking" ring in Lawrence face additional charges, authorities announced Wednesday. Acting U.S. Attorney William Weinreb said the suspects are nationals of the Dominican Republic. They were identified as:

  • Jamon Gonzalez Nival, as known as "Caballito," 30
  • Robert Frett Sierra, aka "Chiquito," 46
  • Julio Baez Gonzalez, aka "Manolo," 34
  • Santos Ruiz Nivar, aka "Tio," no age provided

In addition to multiple drug trafficking offenses, Nival and Sierra were charged with illegal re-entering the U.S. after deportation. Gonzalez was charged with being an unlawful alien in possession of a firearm. Nivar was charged with conspiracy to traffic heroin, cocaine and fentanyl.

The four were arrested as part of an undercover police investigation dubbed "Operation Bad Company," officials said. The drug ring involved fentanyl, heroin and cocaine," Weinreb said.

"Fentanyl and heroin are wreaking havoc in our community, touching nearly every walk of life," Weinreb said in announcing the drug sweep last month.
