Lowell Fire: Dozens Displaced
A fire broke out in Lowell at an apartment complex Thursday.
LOWELL, MA — Dozens were reportedly displaced following a fire at a Lowell apartment complex Thursday night. The fire broke out on Hildreth Street at a three-story complex at about 5:45 p.m. The blaze hit three alarms, drawing firefighters from a half-dozen surrounding communities. No one was hurt.

The fire started un an upper floor and spread to the roof. Among those who fled the fire were a 14-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy who were home alone at the time, according to WHDH. It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. Red Cross officials responded to the scene to help those displaced. Firefighters from Chelmsford, Westford, Tyngsborough, Lawrence and Tewksbury helped in the firefighting effort.
