New Westford Subway to Open Soon

The restaurant chain is almost done preparing its latest location in the Westford Valley Marketplace.

Subway is putting the finishing touches on its newest location in the Westford Valley Marketplace.

A sign on the window indicated it's opening soon. The exact date was unclear; a call to a Subway representative was not immediately returned.

The restaurant is being built at a site formerly occupied by UPS. The site is 1,600 square feet and will accommodate about 30 seats.

Subway will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner there, as the restaurant will be open 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Subway recently rolled out a breakfast menu that has shown success by offering a breakfast sandwich and 16-ounce cup of coffee for just $2.50.

Subway will be competing with Starbucks -- located a stone's throw away in the Westford Valley Marketplace -- for breakfast and coffee consumers.

The site is sandwiched in between the former Burger King and Boston Market sites. The latter two chains Five Guys Burgers has expressed interest in one of the sites, though no plans are in place.

Subway is one of the largest restaurant chains in the world. Its motto is "Eat Fresh."
