From 1985 until 2001, Lunn owned CY Realty Corporation, prosecutors said. In 2001, he filed for bankruptcy but failed to disclose some assets, including up to $4 million in cash, prosecutors said. His scheme was uncovered in 2004 but the next year he went to Maine, rented a snowmobile and fled across the border to Canada. He remained a fugitive for a decade until he was captured by Canadian authorities and extradited to the U.S. last year.

Lunn’s actions were discovered after he testified about the asset transfers during a 2004 Canadian civil lawsuit. In March 2005, Lunn rented a snowmobile in Maine and fled across the border into Canada where he remained a fugitive until he was extradited from Canada in 2016.
In January, Lunn pleaded guilty to concealing assets and making false statements.
