Westford Willows Sweep South Central to Highlight Perfect Weekend
The two wins were part of a stretch that also included wins against Keene and Shrewsbury.
The Westford Willows were able to continue their dominance over the visiting South Central XPress this season, earning two victories during this Saturday's Central New England Baseball Association double header.
Westford took the first game 9-6, thanks in large part to a six run rally in the fifth and the strong pitching of Connor Buckley, who kept the visitors scoreless through the first six innings.
Willows third baseman Zach Robbins led the way at the plate, going 2 for 4 and scoring twice.

"It was a good game," Robbins said. "We beat them every time."
Despite the momentum South Central gained at the end of the first game, it was not enough to earn a victory in the second half of the double header, as Westford took them down once again, this time by a 5-3 margin.

The Willows were on the board in the second when Dan Ubele scored on a single from first baseman Alex Tice, quickly followed with two more runs in the third, and another in the fourth off a wild pitch.
Feeling the pressure in the sixth inning South Central scored one run on a single from Jonathan Mielewski, but the Willows answered back with one run scored to make it 5-1.
Trying to keep the game close, South Central tacked on two more runs in the seventh inning, making the final score 5-3, but it wasn't enough.
"Some days we come to play, some days we don't" said South Central manager Bob Snow. "Basically we played one inning of baseball today."
The win echoed Friday's 10-2 against Keene, and foreshadowed the next day's 5-4 win in Shrewsbury, putting them at four straight wins
The Willows will look to continue their streak against Ronnie's of Worcester on Monday at 6 pm at Worcester Tech, while South Central will play against Chelmsford on Tuesday at 7:30 pm at Charlton Memorial Field.
