Golden Ball Tavern Museum

Step inside history at the Golden Ball Tavern Museum—a remarkable home built in 1768 where the drama of the American Revolution once unfolded. Built by Isaac Jones, a prominent citizen who famously shifted from Loyalist to Patriot, the Tavern became an unlikely hub of intrigue. In 1774 it was the scene of a violent ransacking known as the ‘Weston Tea Party’. During the winter of 1775, it served as a base for British spies, playing a role in the events that led to the march on Lexington and Concord. These walls have witnessed divided loyalties, secret plans, and a nation on the brink of independence. The tavern, found at “the sign of the Golden Ball,” welcomed travelers from 1770 to 1793. For the 200 years, six generations of the Jones family carefully preserved the home and its stories—creating a rare, unbroken link to the past. Today, the Golden Ball Tavern Museum invites visitors to experience early American life up close. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum houses hundreds of original artifacts and offers engaging programs, lectures, and events that bring history vividly to life for all ages. Open year-round from February through December, the museum welcomes visitors every Thursday (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) and on the second Sunday of each month (1–4 p.m.). The museum has a special, week-long holiday event in December which is open to the public each day. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just curious about the past, there’s something here for everyone. Our largest fundraiser of the year - the Golden Ball Tavern Museum's Barn Sale - will celebrate its 59th year on September 26th, 2026. Join us from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You’ll find gorgeous items donated by local and wider community members—many who are moving, downsizing, or just clearing space. WESTON, MA – One person is dead following a three-car crash in Weston that has closed down Route 20 for hours, state police said. The crash occurred near the Wayland town line. Both sides of Route 20 were closed in the area of Buckskin Drive following the crash, which occurred around 12:38 p.m., the Middlesex DA's office said. Investigators believe a vehicle traveling west on Route 20 struck a vehicle before crossing into the eastbound lane, where is struck another vehicle head on. This release concert celebrates Jodi’s night-themed album, Nocturne, her first Grammy-submitted project.
“I’ve always been a night owl, so writing and recording a whole project centered around loving the dark seemed natural to me. I hope people will receive ‘Nocturne’ as a lullaby to their weary hearts. Turn off all the lights. Maybe burn a few candles, and listen to the whole album at night. Come find your way in the dark.” – Jodi Heights
Nocturne is Jodi’s 6th recording project and marks her second project with Grammy-nominated engineer John Weston of Futura Productions (Roslindale, MA). The album is available in Dolby Atmos, a spatial audio technology for immersive sound.
