We are inviting healthy female teens between the ages of 13-15 to participate in a research study. Teens can earn up to $594 if they qualify and receive a picture of their&nbsp;brain. Researchers at McLean Hospital are investigating how stress may influence mood and brain activity. Teens will answer questions about their thoughts and feelings. Teens will&nbsp;also undergo an fMRI brain scan. Teens will also be asked to fill out very brief surveys on their smartphone and to wear a smartwatch that tracks their heart rate, skin&nbsp;conductance, physical activity (i.e., step count), and sleep patterns. Parent permission is required if under 18 years of age. The BBI then sells these artworks locally and all proceeds go to fund their work supporting METCO and other like organizations throughout the year. The Downsize for Diversity program was originally started by the 501(c)(3) organization, the Lincoln METCO Coordinating Committee, in Lincoln, MA, and raised $170,000 from 2017 to 2022. This was invested in a policy-driven endowment fund and has earned over $50,000 in investment income.
Since moving to the Boston Bridges Initiative in 2023 Downsize for Diversity has netted over $137,000 in art sales.

Harbor Strength Pelvic Health

Residents now have access to specialized pelvic floor physical therapy close to home as Harbor Strength Pelvic Health opens. Founded by Doctor of Physical Therapy Maggie Curtis, Harbor Strength Pelvic Health provides one-on-one care for pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, prolapse, core weakness, and other pelvic health concerns. Every treatment plan is personalized, with hour-long appointments focused on helping patients return to the activities they love. For owner Maggie Curtis, opening the clinic is especially meaningful. As a Sudbury native, she's excited to bring specialized pelvic health services back to the community she calls home. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to provide this level of care in the town where I grew up. My goal is to make expert pelvic health physical therapy more accessible so people don't have to travel far to receive the support they deserve." Golden Ball Tavern Museum

Step inside history at the Golden Ball Tavern Museum—a remarkable home built in 1768 where the drama of the American Revolution once unfolded. Built by Isaac Jones, a prominent citizen who famously shifted from Loyalist to Patriot, the Tavern became an unlikely hub of intrigue. In 1774 it was the scene of a violent ransacking known as the ‘Weston Tea Party’. During the winter of 1775, it served as a base for British spies, playing a role in the events that led to the march on Lexington and Concord. These walls have witnessed divided loyalties, secret plans, and a nation on the brink of independence. The tavern, found at “the sign of the Golden Ball,” welcomed travelers from 1770 to 1793. For the 200 years, six generations of the Jones family carefully preserved the home and its stories—creating a rare, unbroken link to the past. Today, the Golden Ball Tavern Museum invites visitors to experience early American life up close. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum houses hundreds of original artifacts and offers engaging programs, lectures, and events that bring history vividly to life for all ages. Open year-round from February through December, the museum welcomes visitors every Thursday (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) and on the second Sunday of each month (1–4 p.m.). The museum has a special, week-long holiday event in December which is open to the public each day. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just curious about the past, there’s something here for everyone. Our largest fundraiser of the year - the Golden Ball Tavern Museum's Barn Sale - will celebrate its 59th year on September 26th, 2026. Join us from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You’ll find gorgeous items donated by local and wider community members—many who are moving, downsizing, or just clearing space.
