Interfaith Citizens Advocating Racial Equality Holds 17th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr Breakfast

The breakfast will be held Monday, January 18 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Weston.

Interfaith Citizens Advocating Racial Equality (ICARE) invites you to join us at the 17th Annual Weston Martin Luther King Breakfast on Monday, January 18, 2016. This uplifting event will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 320 Boston Post Road, in Weston, MA. From 8:30 to 10:30 am. It will be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy community fellowship and reflect on the principles so faithfully exemplified by the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as we celebrate his holiday.

ICARE is a non-sectarian, anti-racism action group formed in 1999 by members from Weston and surrounding towns. Our goal is to honor the legacy of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by supporting diversity programs in the Weston Public School system and providing training sessions to the community.

This year our featured speaker is Raymond A. Shepard, a former Weston resident. Mr. Shepard, a retired textbook publisher, served for many years as editor-in-chief of Houghton Mifflin’s School Division. Previously, Ray, a graduate from the University of Nebraska, taught history and English in Iowa. Later he was awarded a Master in Arts degree from the Harvard School of Education as a Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellow under the Woodrow Wilson Foundation Program.
