American Idol Update: Will Sonika Vaid Make the Next Cut?
The Final Five sing on Thursday night. Vaid joins four others to fight for the title of American Idol.

WESTON, MA — "If you had told me I'd be here last year, I wouldn't have believed you," said Sonika Vaid in a Tweet. "I'm so thankful to have made it this far."
Vaid, a Weston native, is moving forward, and early favorite of the judges since opening auditions.
Last week, viewers voted on its Final Five in American Idol, including MacKenzie Bourg, Trent Harmon, Dalton Rapattoni and La’Porsha Renae.

With one "save" in their pocket, judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. determined that Vaid would be saved, leaving Tristan McIntosh to be eliminated.
NASCAR drivers Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace last week also surprised the finalists to inform them that the Top Five will sing “God Bless America” prior to the start of the Nascar Sprint Cup Series Auto Club 400 Race.

On Thursday, March 24, the Top Five perform two songs. Multiple Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter/producer/hitmaker Sia mentors the Top Five on songs from her repertoire, as well as perform her hit “Cheap Thrills." Then, E Street Band’s Stevie Van Zandt (“The Sopranos,” “Lilyhammer”) mentors the finalists on classic rock songs. Actress and IDOL alum Katharine McPhee also returns to the stage to perform her memorable rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
American Idol airs at 8 p.m. on Fox.
