Join us and learn about six generations of the Jones family living in this house for 200 years and the unique role that the tavern and Isaac Jones played during the Revolutionary War - including the visits from British Spies, Paul Revere’s men and a Weston Tea Party. See up close what it was like to live in the Colonial era - our museum is filled with hundreds of artifacts that belonged to the Jones family.

History is written by the victors—but what of the ill-fated, whose future was sealed by forces beyond their control? The Golden Ball Tavern Museum is committed to illuminating the “broken promises” of the American Revolution, with a focus on Weston history.
The exhibit is funded by a grant received from Mass Humanities program for <a href="https://masshumanities.org/mh-awards-600k-for-250th-stories/?utm_campaign=2a6dbb18d6-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_01_31_07_42_COPY_01&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=Mass%20Humanities%20Email&amp;utm_term=0_36e0b33628-2a6dbb18d6-475790004" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">"Expand Massachusetts Stories - Promises of the Revolution”. </a>which has a special focus on the 250th. Mass Humanities grants are made possible by funding from the Mass Cultural Council.

On April 15, 2013, Marc's life changed in an instant when he survived the Boston Marathon Bombing. The attack cost him his right leg above the knee and left his other leg severely damaged — a limb he fought for years to save. Over the course of more than three years in and out of hospitals and countless surgeries, Marc discovered something just as powerful as his own resilience: the transformative impact of community showing up for one another.
Fueled by gratitude and a promise to give back, Marc went on to found The ReMARCable Foundation Network, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to improving the lives of people with mobility challenges and disabilities. He also created The M.A.R.C. Network Inc., a free mobile app connecting individuals facing mobility challenges with loved ones, resources, and community support.
In this special presentation, Marc will share his story of perseverance, gratitude, and the belief that even in the face of unimaginable adversity, we all have the power to create something truly remarkable.
Following the presentation, guests are invited to stay for a reception featuring seasonal appetizers including shrimp cocktail cups, fruit skewers with minted yogurt dip, and homemade watermelon lemonade spritzers.

Training about domestic violence and coercive control following changes in the 209A law.&nbsp; Dr. Ellerman, domestic abuse expert and researcher, will share critical information for survivors, town/community leaders and allies.
In 2024, Massachusetts made a historic shift by expanding the Chapter 209A legal definition of domestic abuse to include coercive control, a pattern of behavior intended to harass, intimidate, and coerce compliance. This training is designed to raise awareness and equip the public with tools to identify and describe subtle patterns of abuse and control.
You will learn how to: 1) identify a wide range of abusive and controlling behaviors that change over time 2) understand how children are directly targeted and affected by coercive control 3) see through the ways that abusers disguise and normalize their abuse 4) learn how survivors can use the 209A law to obtain legal protection 5) understand the challenges of post-separation abuse.
Helpful for community members navigating controlling or abusive relationships, their friends, family, allies, and local leaders.

Home of Loyalist Isaac Jones and 6 generations of his family

Step inside history at the Golden Ball Tavern Museum—a remarkable home built in 1768 where the drama of the American Revolution once unfolded. Built by Isaac Jones, a prominent citizen who famously shifted from Loyalist to Patriot, the Tavern became an unlikely hub of intrigue. In 1774 it was the scene of a violent ransacking known as the ‘Weston Tea Party’. During the winter of 1775, it served as a base for British spies, playing a role in the events that led to the march on Lexington and Concord. These walls have witnessed divided loyalties, secret plans, and a nation on the brink of independence. The tavern, found at “the sign of the Golden Ball,” welcomed travelers from 1770 to 1793. For the 200 years, six generations of the Jones family carefully preserved the home and its stories—creating a rare, unbroken link to the past. Today, the Golden Ball Tavern Museum invites visitors to experience early American life up close. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum houses hundreds of original artifacts and offers engaging programs, lectures, and events that bring history vividly to life for all ages. Open year-round from February through December, the museum welcomes visitors every Thursday (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) and on the second Sunday of each month (1–4 p.m.). The museum has a special, week-long holiday event in December which is open to the public each day. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just curious about the past, there’s something here for everyone. Our largest fundraiser of the year - the Golden Ball Tavern Museum's Barn Sale - will celebrate its 59th year on September 26th, 2026. Join us from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You’ll find gorgeous items donated by local and wider community members—many who are moving, downsizing, or just clearing space.
