Harvard Vanguard Honors Weston Resident with Lifetime Achievement Award

April 3, 2013 - Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a multi-specialty physician practice with offices across eastern Massachusetts and an affiliate of Atrius Health, recently honored Dr. Alan Brush with the Harvard Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award. In his nearly 40 years with Harvard Vanguard, Brush has demonstrated leadership in various areas, including teaching, clinical program design and electronic medical record (EMR) design.

Brush is an internist at Harvard Vanguard’s Cambridge practice and Chief of the Anticoagulation Management Service. He has been a preceptor for the primary care residency program shared between Harvard Vanguard, Mount Auburn Hospital, and Cambridge Health Alliance for 35 years, instructing more than 20 residents and currently serving as its director. Since 2000, he has served as chair of the Harvard Vanguard EMR internal medicine design committee. Brush has been practicing with Harvard Vanguard since 1975.

The Harvard Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award is given in honor of Dr. Joseph Dorsey. Dorsey was one of the founders of Harvard Community Health Plan and enjoyed a 40 year career practicing with Harvard Vanguard.

Brush is a resident of Weston.
