And the Weston Qualifiers for the East Division 4 Championship Track and Field Meet are…Dim the Lights…
Many Wildcats in the running.

Sophomore star runner Abigail Pohl tops the list of Weston standouts qualifying for the East Division 4 Championship track meet this Friday (note: pole vault competition is tomorrow) at North Reading High. Pohl qualified for four running events this spring. Junior Charlotte Walmsley, meanwhile, is the only member of the Weston girls’ team to qualify for a field event. Walmsley qualified for three events overall.
The complete listing of Weston track and field qualifiers for the East Division 4 Championship meet includes, for the girls: sophomore Abigail Pohl (400m 800m, mile, two- mile); junior Charlotte Walmsley (javelin throw, mile, two-mile); junior Julia Kee (100m, 200m); junior Olivia Brackett (mile, two-mile); sophomore Edom Wessenyeleh (800m, mile); senior Haley Knapp 400m hurdles); junior Lily Teplow (triple jump); junior Eliza Robson (pole vault); junior Alexandra Rigobon (800m); sophomore Lina Makino (mile); and freshman Fini Bichara (triple jump). In addition, the girls 4 x100m and 4 x 800m relays have qualified.
And for the boys: junior Spencer Shea (long jump, 200m, 400m); junior Kyle Kachadurian (100m 200m, 400m); senior Nicky Packs (200m 400m); junior Tim Grant (high jump, triple jump); junior David Freeman (mile, two-mile); sophomore Craig Shytle (long jump, 100m); sophomore Geoffrey Pendergast (400m, 800m); sophomore Matt Herzig (two-mile); sophomore Nick Brackett (pole vault); and freshman Matt Keefe (pole vault). In addition the boys 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays have qualified.

An athlete may be entered in one field event, one running event, and one relay; one field event and two relays; or two field events and one relay.
The top four finishers from each divisional meet plus any participant whose performance ranks in the top 15 overall across all divisions will qualify for the All-State Meet, to be held June 4 at Bridgewater State University.

Meanwhile, the recent Notre Dame Last Chance Meet in Hingham didn’t produce any Division 4 qualifiers for Weston but five athletes posted personal best scores or times. They included sophomore Kayla Lawrence (third in long jump, 15-00.00); sophomore Adam Dvorak (mile, 5:04.47); sophomore Eli Curme (mile, 5:04.47); sophomore Ryan Burrow, (800m, 2:11.79); junior Sundaram Mishra, (400m, 1:03.77) Also faring well in the triple jump were junior Kwaku Adu-Gyamfi (36-01.50); and sophomore Catherine Cebulla (30-07).
