The talented mother of these three young women is Susan Coppock, now residing in Lincoln, who just released her own first book, entitled Fly Away Home: A Coming of Age Memoir.
As reviewed on Amazon.com, "For all of his breathtaking survival skills, Houdini, the famous escape artist, had nothing over Susan Coppock, the author of Fly Away Home: A Coming of Age Memoir. From an early age, this resilient child of a Ziegfield Follies dancer/Broadway actress spent 20 years escaping the stinging words and threatening ways of a mother who had minimal maternal instincts and a maximum ability to belittle and humiliate her younger daughter. Her self-preservation skills allowed her to escape a hurtful home life by imagining that she could fly above it...and she did!
"This is the gripping story of a child who found other women to encourage and support her emotionally, when her own mother didn't know how. Sad as her early years were, Susan Coppock brings humor to her story that will make you smile through the heartbreak.
"As an adult, she managed to overcome the challenges she faced as a child, to succeed as a teacher, a wife, a mother, and then an author. You won't want to miss this compelling book, now available as an ebook on your favorite reader."
