Concussions in Youth Sports

Wayland Weston Youth Football & Cheer, as part of our ongoing effort to improve the safety of children in sports, will sponsor a presentation by Dr. William Meehan June 12th at Wayland High School. Parents of school aged children playing sports are highly encouraged to attend. Dr. Meehan will speak on concussive brain injury, its symptoms, potential long-term effects, and what parents and athletes can do to facilitate recovery. Dr. Meehan is the director of the Sports Concussion Clinic in the Division of Sports Medicine at Children's Hospital in Boston, and an instructor of pediatrics and orthopedics at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Meehan is sole author of the book, Kids, Sports, and Concussion: A Guide for Coaches and Parents.
