COSTUME DESIGN AND COORDINATION Workshop for Teens

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Learn storytelling and how to transform actors into meaningful characters through costume design. In addition to the history of costume design, students study different costume genres such as fantasy, drama, animation, etc. Students will also learn the role of the costume designer in collaboration with the production team, and the basic techniques of costume design for theater, film and TV. Fundamentals of the costume design process starting with script analysis and breakdown for character attributes to research and sketches, to costume creation, actor transformation, and final performance are highlighted. The workshop concludes with live shorts where student show off their work. For teens interested in costume design or film production. No previous design or sewing experience is needed.
