
This workshop explores the art of musical theatre through scene work, movement, improvisation and imagination. Interpreting songs as musical monologues, students learn to combine their skills for singing and dancing to act out songs, enhance their performance and develop their characters. Students also learn various styles of dance and theatrical music, drama and vocal skills, and audition techniques. Students will work on challenging solo pieces, duets, and group numbers/scenes based on skill level and that can be developed for auditions. Geared toward teens new to musical theatre as well as seasoned musical theatre students who want to sharpen their skills.
