"Singing for Non-Singers" Workshop for Teens

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Singing a song should be a joyful, wonderful experience; but for many of us it is terrifying and humiliating. Come to sing, talk and explore the joy of song. Learn about sounds and how we perceive them: What is too loud? Too Soft? Too high? Too low? Learn to make musical sounds, to sing in tune with a group. In this class, no one is expected to sing alone; but you may do so if you wish. Mostly we work as a group, learning to stand, to relax, to move and to enjoy singing. There will be simple songs to learn and lots of vocal exercises and games.

Come to improve your voice and to make singing more enjoyable. Learn to relax and breathe properly. Come to give, and receive, lots of support as we discover how to make big, beautiful, joyful musical sounds.
