Uniting Against Lung Cancer Fashion Show

On Friday, June 3^rd we (Simone Aptekman, Robyn Seresky, Margaret Taylor, Lexi Howard) are holding a fashion show at The Rivers School to raise money for Uniting Against Lung Cancer. The fashion show, sponsored by National Jean Co., will take place at 7:30 pm in the Benson Gymnasium followed by dinner in Hutton Hall. 

We are a group of hardworking and determined seniors. This fashion show is one of the most unique senior projects Rivers has seen yet. We are putting a lot of thought and time into this project to make it as successful as possible for us and our beneficiary. We are interested in fashion, business, and philanthropy, and are very excited to take on this project.

Proceeds from the fashion show will go to Uniting Against Lung Cancer, a 501(C)(3) tax exempt organization committed to funding innovative research into the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. In just seven years, Uniting Against Lung Cancer has funded more than $7.3 Million in direct research grants for important new lung cancer projects.

Lung cancer is the number one cancer killer in the United States.  65% of those diagnosed with lung cancer are never or former smokers and 80% of all nonsmokers diagnosed are women.  It kills more people than the other four major cancers (breast, prostate, pancreatic, colon) combined—yet funding for lung cancer lags dramatically behind other cancers. We would like to call attention to this with our unique and fun fashion show at the Rivers School!

Tickets are $10 for students, $15 for adults and faculty. VIP tickets are limited but available and are $25. The VIP tickets enable you to sit alongside the runway and witness the show close up!
