Frigid Forecast for New Year's Eve, Day

Cold temperatures are in the forecast for this week.

If you’re headed out to New Year’s Eve celebrations this year, you’ll need to bundle up.

The National Weather Service is predicting a cold week ahead with highs below freezing on New Year’s Eve.

The week should start off with a seasonably warm day on Monday with plenty of sunshine and a high of close to 40 degrees.

It’s then expected to get colder with highs on Tuesday and Wednesday (New Year’s Eve) of about 30 degrees. New Year’s Eve night is expected to be mostly clear with temperatures in the low 20s.

New Year’s Day should see sunshine and highs in the lower 30s.

There is no precipitation expected during the week with the next chance of rain or snow next weekend, according to the NWS.
