“Transportation is one of the greatest needs for senior citizens,” said Dr. Shocair, in making the donation. “It helps them get to doctor’s appointments, do their grocery shopping, and participate in social programs. In short, it adds to their independence and quality of life. We are pleased to make this grant to help improve the lives of seniors.”

The Weston Council on Aging provides transportation to residents over 60 for medical appointments, shopping, and cultural events along with low-cost coupons for taxi rides. The agency is supported by over 200 volunteers who provide more than 10,000 hours of service to the Weston community.
