Man Charged With Rape At Weston College

A 23-year-old Peabody man is being held without bail in an alleged campus sexual assault.

WESTON, MA – A Peabody man has been ordered held without bail after allegedly raping and strangling a woman at Regis College last weekend. Evens Noel, 23, was arraigned Wednesday in Waltham District Court in connection with the alleged sexual assault on Saturday, Sept. 23.

Noel, who is not a student at Regis College, was allegedly visiting campus the night of Friday, Sept. 22 when he met the woman. The two left the dorm to go for a walk, and Noel allegedly sexually assaulted and strangled her, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's office.

The woman did not know Noel prior to the evening of the alleged assault, the DA's office said.

Noel is being held pending a dangerousness hearing on Monday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m.
