Step inside history at the Golden Ball Tavern Museum—a remarkable home built in 1768 where the drama of the American Revolution once unfolded. Built by Isaac Jones, a prominent citizen who famously shifted from Loyalist to Patriot, the Tavern became an unlikely hub of intrigue. In 1774 it was the scene of a violent ransacking known as the ‘Weston Tea Party’. During the winter of 1775, it served as a base for British spies, playing a role in the events that led to the march on Lexington and Concord. These walls have witnessed divided loyalties, secret plans, and a nation on the brink of independence. The tavern, found at “the sign of the Golden Ball,” welcomed travelers from 1770 to 1793. For the 200 years, six generations of the Jones family carefully preserved the home and its stories—creating a rare, unbroken link to the past. Today, the Golden Ball Tavern Museum invites visitors to experience early American life up close. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum houses hundreds of original artifacts and offers engaging programs, lectures, and events that bring history vividly to life for all ages. Open year-round from February through December, the museum welcomes visitors every Thursday (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) and on the second Sunday of each month (1–4 p.m.). The museum has a special, week-long holiday event in December which is open to the public each day. Whether you're a history enthusiast or just curious about the past, there’s something here for everyone. Our largest fundraiser of the year - the Golden Ball Tavern Museum's Barn Sale - will celebrate its 59th year on September 26th, 2026. Join us from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You’ll find gorgeous items donated by local and wider community members—many who are moving, downsizing, or just clearing space. WESTON, MA — Weston police are looking for a man they say stole a credit card from a car and then made two big ticket purchases with the card. According to police the total of the purchases was more than $7,000. A photo snapped from surveillance cameras in the mall shows the man wearing a white cap and a black North Face jacket with black pants and shoes. Police said he bought a $3,000 Macbook Pro from the Natick mall as well as a $4,500 purchase from Louis Vuitton in the mall as well. Both purchases were made on April 27.Anyone who may recognize the man is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Jeff Beohner at 781-786-6206 or beohner.j@westonmass.org.

Training about domestic violence and coercive control following changes in the 209A law.&nbsp; Dr. Ellerman, domestic abuse expert and researcher, will share critical information for survivors, town/community leaders and allies.
In 2024, Massachusetts made a historic shift by expanding the Chapter 209A legal definition of domestic abuse to include coercive control, a pattern of behavior intended to harass, intimidate, and coerce compliance. This training is designed to raise awareness and equip the public with tools to identify and describe subtle patterns of abuse and control.
You will learn how to: 1) identify a wide range of abusive and controlling behaviors that change over time 2) understand how children are directly targeted and affected by coercive control 3) see through the ways that abusers disguise and normalize their abuse 4) learn how survivors can use the 209A law to obtain legal protection 5) understand the challenges of post-separation abuse.
Helpful for community members navigating controlling or abusive relationships, their friends, family, allies, and local leaders.
