Middlesex Sheriff's Office Says Goodbye to K-9 Mik

Police mourned the sudden passing of the German shepherd Friday.

The Middlesex Sheriff's Office is grieving the loss of one of its K-9 officers.

The sudden passing of Mik, a German shepherd with the department, was announced on Twitter Friday.

Law enforcement agencies in Massachusetts took to Twitter Friday night to offer condolences to the department and Mik's partner, Lt. Michael Kelley. Mik and Lt. Kelley were in their eighth year together as partners.

Little is known about how Mik died, but the office indicated that it was unexpected.
