On Jan. 11, the Weston High School Varsity Wrestling team matched up against the Shepherd Hill School of Dudley, Mass. Weston won that match convincingly, 54-6, and improved their overall record to 3-2-1 on the season.
At this point in the season, the wrestling team’s record is 4-6-1, highlighted by the Shepherd Hill win as well as last night's 45-31 win over Acton-Boxborough, and a 39-39 tie with "perennial wrestling powerhouse" Wayland at the annual Christmas Eve match, according to Weston Athletic Director Mike McGrath.

"The squad of over 30 wrestlers has benefited from strong senior leadership this season with other wins over Shepherd Hill of Dudley, The Brooks School and Winchester High School," said McGrath, adding that the tie with Wayland was a particular highlight since "Weston has not beaten Wayland in eight seasons."
Next up for the team is a quad meet at Norton High School on Saturday.
