A 24-year-old Peabody man has been indicted for an alleged campus sexual assault in September.

WESTON, MA – A Peabody man has been indicted by a Middlesex County grand jury for allegedly raping and strangling a woman at Regis College in September. Evens Noel, now 24, is charged with an alleged sexual assault at the Weston campus on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Prosecutors say Noel, who is not a student at Regis, was allegedly visiting campus the night of Friday, Sept. 22 when he met the woman. The two left the dorm to go for a walk, and Noel allegedly sexually assaulted and strangled her, according to the DA's office.
The woman did not know Noel prior to the evening of the alleged assault, the DA's office said. He has been indicted on charges of rape and strangulation.
