Selectmen to Voters: We Don't Want to Hear from You

At last night's meeting of our Board of Selectmen, it was revealed that our selectmen will be speaking in opposition to the two citizens' petitions on the warrant, Article 5 which asks the voters if putting a Weston Center for the Arts into the Old Library is a good idea, and Article 6 which calls for a whole new Request for Proposals for Development of the Josiah Smith Tavern and Old Library.
Given the fact that Articles 5 & 6 are non-binding, advisory votes, it is as if our 3 selectmen are clapping their hands over their ears while exclaiming "No, voters of Weston, we do not want to hear what you have to say, even at Town Meeting."
How can they possibly justify a stance like this?
Come to Town Meeting on December 2 and find out!
