Snake Abandoned In Weston Becomes Police Pet

WESTON, MA – Police in Weston are searching for the person or persons who abandoned a corn snake at the Weston Transfer Station over the weekend. In the meantime, they've made "Cornelius" the official police station pet.

The snake was found in a glass cage with heating lamps and accessories for the animal. The cage was left outdoors as temperatures fell below zero, police said.

Weston police are looking for a white Subaru Outback with black roof racks, which is believed to be owned by whoever is responsible for what police described as a "cruel act of animal abandonment." Anyone with information is asked to call Weston PD Detectives at 781-786-6207.
