Sobriety Checkpoint in Middlesex County Today

State Police announce Middlesex County as location for safety, sobriety check.

Editor's note: The following is information from a press release from the Massachusetts State Police.

The Massachusetts State Police have announced they will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Middlesex County this weekend.

In a statement, police say the purpose of the checkpoint is to further educate the driving public and strengthen the public’s awareness of the need to detect and remove motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways. The checkpoint will be operated during varied hours, the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety, say police.

The checkpoint will be held Saturday, Nov. 26 into Sunday, Nov. 27.
