Softball a Big Hit in Win over Rival Wayland

Goldman,Ober lead offensive charge.

The Weston softball team exploded for nine runs in the first inning en route to a 17-3 victory over archrival host Wayland in Dual County League Small Division action yesterday. Weston improved to 4-11 overall and 2-6 in division play.

Every player in the Weston lineup had at least one hit and a run scored.

Sophomore Sarah Goldman led the way, going 4 for 5 with two RBIs.

Senior Sarah Ober had two hits in three tries with a walk and four runs scored.

Juniors Sami Gosman, Tanner Skenderian and Kristen Welby, and sophomore Marissa Messina each had two hits, while sophomores Ariana Vasquez and Dani Silverstein and freshman Talia Cramer had one hit apiece.

Vasquez was also brilliant in the circle, allowing just one earned run on seven hits, while striking out five and walking one.
