Open to teens in grades 6-12. Please contact Youth Services (781-786-6166 or smitchill@gmail.com) to register. One of the hardest things for any writer to do is write about extreme emotions, without sounding silly or melodramatic. Also, practice in writing about new, even ridiculous, emotional states will make anyone a more flexible, persuasive writer, prepared to write about the unexpected. Come to this drop-in (that means no prep, no homework!) writing workshop where you'll learn to more effectively write about emotions, and have fun doing it. There will be an "emotion hat," where emotions of every sort will be waiting for you. (Heard of "schadenfreude"? You will!) Once you've selected your emotion, you'll write a short piece about that emotion. Then we will read your work, and play "guess that emotion."
