The High School Presents 'Hot Mikado'

Presented by the Weston High School Theater Company.

Last week, the Weston High Theater Company concluded its 2010-2012 season in swinging style with three performances of "Hot Mikado," a jazzy adaptation of Gilbert and Sullivan’s masterwork. More than 60 students combined to bring Weston audiences rousing performances that included tap and jazz dance, scat
and lyric singing and comic and romantic performances.  A show with a little something for everyone, "Hot Mikado" was a big hit with audiences, who joined the festivities onstage in Saturday night’s curtain call.

Drama Director John Minigan staged the production, with musical direction by Chris Memoli and Dr. Therese Provenzano, choreography by Lynn Frederiksen and (WHS alum) Becky Dillaway, technical direction by Abraham Mills and costumes by Meg Cowe.  The May 6 and 7 performances were the culmination of six weeks of rehearsal by the cast and pit band and many long Saturdays of building the set designed by the Weston High Technical Theater class and provided a way for the graduating seniors in Theater Company and the pit band to go out on a high note.
