The Pumpkins Have Arrived!

Traffic on Rt.  117 (North Avenue) was limited to one lane for several hours on Saturday earlier this month as members of the Weston United Methodist Church unloaded over 1,000 pumpkins onto the church lawn.

To put 1,000 pumpkins in perspective:

  • 1,000 pumpkins fill almost half of an 18 wheeler trailer, stacked to the ceiling

  • It took 12 people, aged 14 – 90, about 2 ½ hours to unload them out of the truck, working continuously

  • The pumpkins will be sold to benefit the Navaho Indians and local mission outreach, including Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen in Waltham, Parmenter Community Health Care and the Weston Council on Aging Food Pantry.

Pumpkins will be on sale from Noon to 7:00 every day until Halloween, 377 North Avenue, Weston.
