Emergency responders used Weston Middle School to practice their response to an active schooler situation.

(Weston Fire Department)

WESTON, MA- Although students were on February vacation, the halls of Weston Middle School were anything but empty. The town fire and police departments used the school to hold a simulated active shooter situation.

The video is shot from the perspective of a shooting victim who sees the Rescue Task Force come in through the main entrance to assist them where they are laying in the hallway. The Rescue Task Force's mission is to quickly find and safely remove critically wounded patients to a designated extraction zone. Police officers surround the team providing security to fire department members who provide EMS and Extraction out to ambulances.

The fire department said it will be conducting more exercises in the near future and this will become required yearly training for all members.
