WEEKEND RECAP - 4/7/14

SB: Lesley 8, Regis 2 (Game 1); Lesley 9, Regis 0 (Game 2)

WESTON, Mass.
 – Regis College dropped a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader to Lesley University on Sunday afternoon in Weston, Mass. The Lynx took an 8-2 decision to win game one while shortening game two with a score of 9-0 in five innings. The Lynx improve to 7-11 on the year and a perfect 6-0 in NECC play while the Pride fall to 3-12 overall and 3-5 in the conference.

TRACK: Regis takes part in Corsair Classic

DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Regis College men's and women's track and field teams participated in the Corsair Classic on Saturday afternoon at UMass Dartmouth. On the men's side, Matt Owens (Boston, Mass.) finished third in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.04 and posted another third place finish in the 200 meter dash (22.73). Jeremy Israel (Boston, Mass.) added a fifth place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.28, while Joseph Greco (Oxford, Conn.) had a time of 54.75.

SB: Mitchell 6, Regis 1 (Game 1); Mitchell 10, Regis 1 (Game 2)

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College dropped a pair of games to visiting Mitchell College, 6-1 and 10-1, on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) softball action in Weston, Mass. The Pride fall to 3-10 overall this year and 3-3 in league games, while the Mariners improve to 7-12 and 3-1 in league games.

WLAX: Regis 21, Bay Path 2 

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- Sixteen different players recorded at least one point, as the Regis College women's lacrosse team defeated Bay Path College, 21-2 on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action.

MLAX: Regis 14, Johnson & Wales 9

WESTON, Mass. – Sophomore Nicky Rodrigo (Miami, Fla.) and junior Peter Leighton(Wilmington, Mass.) scored four goals apiece, while also making four assists and one assist, respectively, to lead Regis College over visiting Johnson & Wales (R.I.), 14-9 in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon. The Pride grab their eighth win of the season as they move to 8-4, while the Wildcats fall to 2-9 on the year.

MTEN: Regis 9, Wheelock 0

BOSTON, Mass. - Freshman Jeremy Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) won a combined two matches and didn't drop a game to lead the Regis College men's tennis team to a 9-0 victory over host Wheelock College in a New England Collegiate Conference contest this afternoon in a match played on the campus of Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
