Weston Animal Control Rescues Owl From Netting

WESTON, MA — A Weston Animal Control officer rescued an owl on Tuesday. A Great Horned Owl was caught in some netting in town and couldn't free itself.

Weston police posted a video of the rescue on Facebook — you can see the owl patiently waiting to be untangled, lifting his wings to get the netting out. Once he was freed, the owl was taken to a rehabilitation center to recover.

In the department's Facebook post, police poked fun at the owl saying "Despite being asked, 'how many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?' Mr. Owl declined to answer. So for now, it's still anyone’s guess."
