Weston's Boston Saengerfest Men's Chorus will compete in WGBH's singing competition.

WESTON, MA- Weston's Boston Saengerfest Men’s Chorus will be competing on Season 5 of WGBH’s Sing That Thing! They’ll tape their episode this Saturday at noon at WGBH Studios in Brighton.

The chorus performs a wide range of styles from glee club to musical theater and music from the great Welsh singing heritage. In the past, the group sang in London’s Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall and Sanders Theatre.

The Saengerfest will sing in Madrid and Barcelona with Spanish and Catalonian choruses this spring. In Boston, they regularly salute new citizens in naturalization ceremonies at Faneuil Hall.

The group can expect plenty of competition as eighteen ensembles representing genres from barbershop and pop to gospel and classical will compete across seven episodes in three age-based divisions. Expert coaches Annette Philip, Anthony Trecek-King and Jared Bowen will guide the groups, offering constructive feedback throughout the season and will ultimately decide which groups will be named the winners in each division and an overall winner in the Grand Finale.

Sing That Thing! premieres April 12 at 8pm on WGBH 2.
