Weston To Consider Trump Impeachment Petition
Residents will vote Nov. 28 on a citizen petition asking the House to examine whether President Trump is violating the Emoluments Clause.

WESTON, MA – Residents of Weston will vote on a citizen petition asking the U.S. House of Representatives to investigate whether President Trump should be impeached. The vote will be held at a Special Town Meeting Nov. 28. If passed, the resolution would echo similar motions filed in Brookline, Newton, Cambridge and other communities.
The petition asks the House specifically to examine whether Trump is violating the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution, which outlaws financial gain for sitting presidents beyond receiving their salary.
Ahead of the Special Town Meeting, the League of Women Voters of Weston will co-host "The Constitution and Donald Trump: A Forum for Concerned Citizens" Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Weston Town Library Community Room. Voters will have a chance to learn more about the petition and voice their questions and concerns.
