Weston Drama Workshop to offer Master Class series

Weston Drama Workshop, a nonprofit youth summer theater organization based in Weston, is presenting a series of master classes this fall and winter for young people interested in honing their theater skills.

The first class will take place Saturday, October 17th at 12 PM, and will be on the subject of “Mastering the Musical Theater Audition”. Taught by two local educators, Chris Brindley and Chris Holownia, this four-hour class will prepare participants for upcoming auditions, as well as further hone performance skills. The class will take place at the Rivers School in Weston.

On Saturday, November 7th from 12-4 PM, Emily Craver will teach a class called “Adding Confidence to Your Next Dance Audition”. This class will teach students how to properly warm up the body for movement, techniques on how to quickly learn and retain dance combinations, and tips to perform to one’s fullest extent. The class will take place at the Weston Recreation Center.

Lastly, on Saturday, January 23rd from 12-4 PM, Erin Schwall will run an Improvisation workshop. Participants will work on the fundamentals of improv, through the use of games and exercises in a fast-paced learning environment. The workshop will take place at the Weston Recreation Center.

As there is a 20 student maximum for each of these three classes, early registration is advised. The classes are open to everyone from Grade 7 through age 23.
