Weston Eagle Scout Builds Donation Boxes for Those in Need
As part of his Eagle Scout Service Project, Mateo Schwartz-Torres helped craft donation boxes for the nonprofit Hope and Comfort.

WESTON, MA – A Weston teen is helping a local nonprofit ensure it's equipped to assist those in need.
Mateo Schwartz-Torres joined up with Hope and Comfort to help craft wooden donation boxes to collect hygiene products, such as soap, toothpaste and shampoo.
Schwartz-Torres chose to work with the nonprofit as part of his Eagle Scout Service Project; Hope and Comfort will distribute the products collected to area food pantries, homeless shelters and other human services organizations.

"The boxes are true works of art," said Hope and Comfort President and Founder Jeff Feingold in a statement. "Having these beautiful collection boxes around the community will allow us to collect many more personal care products such as toothpaste and deodorant to help our neighbors in need. Each day we see the immense need throughout the area for these essential items and we are thankful to Mateo for his help in our efforts to get the products to people in need."
Hope and Comfort was founded in 2011 by Feingold, a Weston resident. The nonprofit collaborates with area food pantries, schools, Boys & Girls Clubs, shelters and a myriad of other organizations in the area; to date, it has distributed more than 215,000 hygiene products.
