is the 11th safest city in the Commonwealth. This town is only 12 miles from Boston with various, simple commute options to travel into downtown in just minutes. It’s known
to be a very welcoming spot to settle down in for young families and empty-nesters, alike.
Community
The community of Weston provides its residents with a wide range of activities and suburban settings to enjoy. It’s famous for its Cat Rock Park with a lake, hiking trails and playground. A trip downtown reveals a number of local businesses, shops, and restaurants. Landsake Farm is the perfect spot to buy full and half shares of organic fruits and vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Neighborhoods are expansive with lots of space for big backyards. If you want to get to know other residents, you can look into memberships at the Weston Golf Club, Pinebrook Country Club, and Wightman tennis and swim club. For summer recreation for a nominal fee you can join the local outdoor swimming pool with a small snack bar. Weston residents who join Weston Recreation can also enjoy indoor swimming at the Weston Middle School. A new state- of-the-art playground is located next to the Weston Town Hall and an outdoor winter ice skating rink is situated in front of the newly built Field School. Weston Forest and Trails is another great spot to enjoy the outdoors and you can go for long walks with your dogs at the Weston Reservoir on Ash Street! The variety of activities in the area reflects the sense of community that makes Weston such a great place to live.
Education and Opportunities
One of the main reasons families move to Weston is its stellar school system, continually characterized as innovative and excellent. In 2017, its school system was ranked 3rd by Boston Magazine’s Top 50 Ranking of High Schools in Boston and Boston Suburbs, beating out many other top-notch local cities and towns. The placement was based on criteria like average class size, teacher-to-student ratio, and the percentage of students attending college. Weston’s school system has actually been ranked in the top 5 schools for the past 5 years, with a graduation rate of 95.6%. Weston is home of three elementary schools, Weston Middle School
and Weston High School, and all are known for promoting academic excellence through a challenging curriculum and nurturing environment.
There’s also opportunity for additional development and learning. Weston Pubic Library has created reading initiatives for children of all ages, and the town’s Community Children’s Association provides programs for children to form long-term friendships while continuing to develop their social, behavioral, and academic skills.
There’s no question that Weston should top the list for any Metro West house hunters. Nothing beats a safe, friendly, and supportive environment. From the prestigious
housing options to its top-of-the-class school system and creative community opportunities, Weston really has it all!
