Women's Community League hosts holiday boutique sale Friday at The Barn

Proceeds benefit WCL Service and Scholarship Fund.

'Tis the season for shopping and it is never too early to get a head start on the holiday rush. This Friday at The Barn of the Josiah Smith Tavern in Weston Center, the Women's Community League of Weston is sponsoring the Holiday Boutique – a day of shopping for gifts and accessories from seven unique local vendors.

Admission is free and proceeds from vendor fees and raffle ticket sales will benefit the Women's Community League Service and Scholarship Fund.

"Everyone should check it out," Women's Community League president Susan Littlefield said.  "It is a high-end group of vendors and it should be a lot of fun."

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. patrons are invited to shop the seven participating boutiques under one roof showcasing items including women's clothing and accessories, custom jewelry, children's clothing and decorative items for the home. Raffle tickets will also be on sale for patrons wishing to enter for a chance to win 12 different gift cards donated by local merchants and restaurants.

"It is much nicer to shop in an environment like this than going over to the mall. You are going to find things that are unique that you can't find in the big stores and you are going to get a jump start on your holiday shopping," event organizer Nancy Hughes said. "It is local. It is so convenient."

The featured vendors include Potpourri Designs by Lyn Evans, Pam's Pashmina's, Kenzie's Kids, Perennial Designs, iDazz, Janet Egan Designs, M.E. Sinatra Designs and Designs by Lillie.

"It is nice to have them in an environment where it is like personal shopping," Hughes said. "It is a way to get yourself ready for the holidays, get your kids ready and get your home ready."

Raffle winners can expect gift cards from top spots such as Ill Capriccio in Waltham, Russell's Garden Center of Wayland, Captain Marden's and Wasik's Cheese Shop in Wellesley among others.

The Women's Community League Scholarship Fund annually benefits six to seven graduating Weston High School students with need-based scholarships and merit-based awards. The league also donates money from the fund toward organizations in the community demonstrating a need.
