• Beech Grove running out of room (eastbayri.com) — Beech Grove Cemetery is down to about 200 plots, and Westport officials are weighing higher fees and possible residency limits as they plan a 1,500-plot expansion. With roughly $700,000 secured but at least $200,000 still needed, the Select Board will revisit funding and burial policy changes in coming months. 
• Man arrested on drug trafficking charge in Westport (newportdispatch.com) — Westport police arrested a 61-year-old local man after a late-night traffic stop on State Road uncovered suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Officers say they found about 29 grams of a white powder plus crack pipes and a scale, leading to trafficking, license suspension, and speeding charges.
