26 Arrested at West Roxbury Pipeline Protest

The protestors were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after entering the construction site and refusing to leave.

West Roxbury, MA – More than two dozen protesters were arrested Wednesday at Spectra Energy's West Roxbury pipeline construction site.

Boston Police told Patch 26 protestors were taken into custody around 1:25 p.m. after entering the site on Grove Street; they were warned that if they did not vacate the premises they'd be subject to arrest.

The protestors were charged with trespassing and disturbing the peace, and some received an additional charge of resisting arrest, police said.

According to a video posted on Vimeo, the activists staged a "die-in," similar to mass graves dug in Pakistan in anticipation of heat wave deaths.

Karenna Gore, Al Gore's daughter, was among the protestors, according to the video description.
