Amy Black - Soulful American Roots Music

Amy Black and Ryan Black Play Tonight at Mother Brook Arts And Community Center at 8:00 p.m.

Dedham School of Music Presents:

Amy Black - Soulful American Roots Music

Amy Black will be singing and playing guitar with her husband Ryan on drums on Saturday, March 21st, starting at 8:00 p.m., at Mother Brook Arts and Community Center (MBACC). American Songwriter Magazine calls Amy Black “a powerful, authentic, talented and above all soulful new entry in the rootsy singer/songwriter ranks;” while the Philadelphia Inquirer calls her “ an appealing cross between Bonnie Raitt and Mary Chapin Carpenter” with “songs that mix substance and accessibility.” A Boston-based artist with storytelling and southern tradition in her blood, Amy has shared stages with artists including Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Delbert McClinton, Chris Isaak, Suzy Boggus, Joey Ely, and the Courtyard Hounds. Her seamless blend of all things Americana, coupled with her soulful, smooth vocals and gift for bringing characters to life through song make her an artist that pleases lovers of blues, soul and country alike. In 2014, Amy released her second album of original music, “This Is Home” and in June 2015, will release a full length album of classic Muscle Shoals music recorded at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama (her family’s homeland) with legendary keys player, Spooner Oldham, Will Kimbrough and the McCrary Sisters. Music, photos and video at www.amyblack.com The event is $20 at the door. All are welcome. This is a wonderful way to support our local musicians, develop community, and have a great time all in one! This event is partially supported in part by a grant form the Dedham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. We also thank Richie at “You-do-it” Electronics Center in Needham for our new sound system equipment at MBACC.
