When Boston native Penelope Ward decided she was going to watch a little less TV and focus on being more productive in the evenings, she had no idea where this newfound time and creativity would lead her. She had always loved to write. In fact, it's a joke amongst her friends that if you give her an occasion, she'll write you a suitable (and hilarious) poem to be read at it. She is the toastmaster of the group, for sure.
And so it began...
Penelope sat down to begin writing, and in five months completed her first book which she titled Gemini.

Set in Boston and the surrounding areas, Gemini is the story of waitress Allison Abraham and mystery man Cedric Callahan. After the two meet at the diner where she works, he leaves abruptly, but she can't seem to get him out of her head. She has no idea that he had actually come on a mission to find her. After a passionate romance ignites, Cedric's secrets are finally revealed, changing both of their lives forever.
To gain attention, Gemini was released as a free download and an astonishing 40,000 copies were ordered. It reached the #1 spot on Amazon's free list in Canada and #2 in the UK.

When asked how she was feeling about so many downloads in such a short amount of time, Penelope responded, "I am really excited about the response Gemini has received. Many readers have been kind enough to go back and leave positive reviews, which can only help to promote the book going forward. For that, I am extremely thankful."
Penelope Ward grew up in the Roslindale section of Boston with her five older brothers. She attended Boston Latin School and Boston University. After graduation, she became a news anchor in New York and Western Massachusetts, but decided to leave that career to start a family. She is a devoted wife and the mother of a beautiful nine year old daughter with autism and a seven year old son. Her daughter was the inspiration for the character, Callie, in Gemini.
