BMC HealthNet Plan appoints Kathleen Connolly as Executive Director, Senior Care Options, and VP, Special Needs Plans

Position oversees day-to-day management and strategy for Senior Care Options program

Kathleen Connolly has been named Executive Director, Senior Care Options (SCO) and Vice President, Special Needs Plans for BMC HealthNet Plan. In this positon, Ms. Connolly is developing and executing the strategy for the SCO program as well as overseeing its day-to-day management. This includes relationships with government organizations, including the Executive Office of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

BMC HealthNet Plan Senior Care Options is a health plan for individuals who are age 65 or older, have MassHealth (Medicaid) Standard coverage, and also may be enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B. Members of this program often experience a range of serious medical and behavioral health issues necessitating a high degree of coordinated care. Medical and behavioral health care is furnished by providers through Boston Medical Center and its affiliated community health centers, as well as several other hospitals in the area.

Most recently, Ms. Connolly served as Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Products – Public Plans Division – for Tufts Health Plan. Her many years of professional experience include One Care, the dual program for the under-65 population, health plan operational consulting, strategic and project management, and product implementation. Among the health care companies she has been affiliated with are Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, McKesson, and Allina Health System-Medica Health Plans. She is licensed as a Health & Life Insurance Producer and is a certified project manager. In addition Ms. Connolly served as a board member of Caring Unlimited, Managed Care Executive Group, and Information Technology Association of America.
